Making eneloop my new standard Saturday, September 04, 2010I am in the process of switching all my battery-powered devices over to the AA- and AAA-sized eneloop batteries by Sanyo. Unlike regular NiMH batteries, they hold their charge well for a long time. This makes them suitable for marine and aviation handheld radios, which are usually backup radios and don't get frequent use. They also shine in regular rechargeable applications, such as large camera flashes like the Nikon SB600 and SB800, and have the additional advantage of not being dead when you need them just because you didn't charge them right before you left for your kid's school Christmas play. Ask me how I know. Oh, and I'm using the La Crosse BC-700 charger, which works great and gives better feedback on charge status than many other chargers.
Quite possibly the most Epic rechargeable battery that I've ever used! Friday, September 03, 2010I'm not the authority on rechargeable batteries, (I'll leave that to Candle Power Forums), but I will say that I am an extremely happy user. I now use these AA batteries for everything in the house. From flashlights to my wife's Nikon speedlight, they hold up very well and last much longer than anything else we have used.
I matched these batteries with the MAHA Powerex C-9000 charger and the combination works great.
Other thoughts: I wish the new style Eneloops (the 1500 charge cycle, HR-3UTGA / HR-4UTGA), were more widely available. When I called Sanyo USA, they said at this time, they are only available through Costco.
Also, I would have liked to see the 4 packs come with a plastic storage case.
Great performance, and I will buy more in the future.
The Best You Can Get! Thursday, September 02, 2010These are the ONLY batteries my family uses! I bought the starter kit at Costco 3 years ago and after endless recharging they are still going strong!!! These batteries are especially good for our Wii system and controllers! My husband and I researched online and discovered that using a charging station for your remotes actually VOIDS your nintendo warrenty!!! Nintendo recommeds using rechargeable batteries such as these! LOVE them! GET them!
Cheap packaging! Order elsewhere. Thursday, September 02, 2010Ordered these a while ago, finally got round to opening the package. Each battery has a small crimp/crack at the base, exposing the internals.
Packaging was just a thin plastic envelope. Too late to return now, but won't be buying from here again.
Love these batteries! Thursday, September 02, 2010These enloops are some resilient batteries. I put them in my digital scale which is a battery hog and two weeks later, they are STILL working. I had the Rayovac IC3 batteries and within 2-3 days, they were dead in the scale. I charged the IC3's them and put them to the side since I was using the WONDERFUL eneloop batteries. Wouldn't you know two days later when I put the IC3's into another battery operated device, the batteries were already dead. Wish I had bought the eneloops to begin with and never messed with the IC3's.
Sanyo eneloop batteries are a good deal. I will continue to support this product, and hope it never becomes discontinued.
